The Tendring District has a diverse range of dynamic natural environment which benefit from national and in some cases international conservation designations.

The areas, nature reserves and bird sanctuaries provide excellent opportunities for bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Yacht clubs in Walton and Brightlingsea are popular for those wanting to gain their sea legs! Watch out for training days and regattas in the summer months.

Paddle boarding, kite-surfing, sea kayaking, geocaching, sea fishing or stillwater fishing are just some of the outdoor pursuits available in the area!

You can also venture by boat and explore our shoreline experiencing seal watching in Harwich and wildlife boat trips in Walton or depart on the Brightlingsea Foot Ferry for a pub lunch and river cruise or a trip to Point Clear or Harwich Harbour Ferry  offering tours of the local area.
