The six main towns in the district, Clacton, Frinton, Dovercourt, Manningtree, Brightlingsea and Walton all offer a unique selection of independent retailers as well as the more traditional High Street names.
A number of the local villages boast boutiques, craft shops, delicatessens, florists, jewellers, book and farm shops offering an abundance of superb local produce.
There are also regular weekday, weekend and Sunday markets showcasing a range of goods for sale and traditional farmers markets a range of local farmers selling their home grown produce, all taking place within the Tendring District.
The Waterglade Retail Park, just on the edge of Clacton town centre, offers an excellent selection of High street names.
Clacton Shopping Village is ideally located on the outskirts of Clacton, offering a wide range of individual stores with famous name brands offering discounts off high street prices.
Further up the coast, the Triangle Shopping Centre, Frinton-on-Sea is also worth a visit.
Harwich Retail Park is home to some excellent brand names or the Kingsway Plaza, Harwich offers a variety of units selling an assortment of items from crafts to unique gift items.
The Sunspot Jaywick is a multi-award-winning purpose-built business centre situated along the seafront in Jaywick Sands offering a range of retail, office, studio and workshop spaces as well as home to a selection of independent businesses and the Sunspot Café .
