Wrabness Local Nature Reserve is located on the southern bank of the River Stour between Manningtree and Harwich, it is a mixture of unimproved grassland, wooded areas and marshland with extensive intertidal mudflats and saltmarsh. A network of paths and specially designed ramps makes for easy access for the disabled visitor. You can enjoy both Coppice woodland and watching waders on the estuary.
With Turtle Doves ‘turring’ toward the end of April, Nightingales songs during May, Barn Owls and sometimes Short-eared Owls soaring overhead and much more wildlife to enjoy, Wrabness Nature Reserve has various seasonal wonders to keep an eye and ear out for.
