The 2025 Summer Reading Challenge.

“Story Garden – Adventures in Nature and the Great Outoors” is coming to libraries this summer!

This years annual reading challenge will inspire children to tap into the world of imagination and reading, exploring the magical connection between storytelling and nature. With wonderful characters to join that create an enchanting world, children can find magical creatures, plants and flowers to inspire what they next read.

With six stickers for children to collect over summer that are earnt when children tell the library about a book they read through a review, a piece of art or attending a library event. Once six stickers have been collected children will earn a certificate and medal.

The challenge runs from Saturday 19 July to Saturday 6 September in all Essex Libraries. For more information, see the Summer Reading Challenge event page.
