Murder mystery spoof, prequel to the Inspector Pratt series. Christmas, mid-1930s. Incompetent Sergeant Pratt calls on the wealthy Gates family, looking for donations to a police charity in return for his awful magic act, but becomes a pawn in the schemes of someone with murderous intentions.
